The early years of any child’s life are the foundation stages of their development and play a vital role in their successes later on in life. Lack of opportunities and interventions, or poor-quality interventions, during early childhood, can significantly disadvantage young children and diminish their potential for success. This course focuses on providing an understanding and knowledge of early child development as well as how to use a holistic approach to the development of babies, toddlers and young children.

In Class or Virtual Class Based Learning

A technology mediated delivery method allowing campus based class or virtual class attendance, or a combination of both. Classes can be in the form of lecture based or mentored based.

 

Mentored Online Learning

A technology mediated, self paced online delivery method with personal mentorship.

Important Notes

  • Learners to arrive at the training venue from 08:00 in preparation for 08:30 starting time 
  • Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of the proof of payment or an official company purchase order. 
  • For full day, on-campus courses, Learnfast will supply you with a computer to use for training (if applicable),& tea/coffee and a full lunch. Catering is not included for On-Site training and laptops are available for hire at an additional cost if required. 
  • Cancellation or rescheduling requests must be in writing and reach us via email at least 5-10 working days prior to the course commencement date. Full course fees will be retained for no shows. 
  • Virtual learners are required to have a stable internet connection & a working headset available for sound purposes.  
  • Learners who use their own laptops are fully responsible to ensure that administration rights, software installations, etc. are working sufficiently prior to training. 
  • Learnfast reserves the right to cancel or postpone dates if we require to do so and undertake to inform clients in writing and telephonically of these changes. 
  • Learnfast is not responsible for costs associated with cancellation of classes such as flight and accommodation for clients. 
 
 

Facilitate development of babies, toddlers and/or young children.

  • How to facilitate using appropriate activities that are fun, relevant and meaningful to children.
  • Ensuring the facilitation approach is multi-cultural, avoids bias.
  • Ensuring facilitation uses teachable moments.
  • Managing children in a manner that promotes development and is sensitive to the needs of individual children.
  • Communication is responsive and promotes development in general.
  • Verbal and non-verbal interactions value the children.
  • Facilitating in a manner that ensures the physical and emotional safety, security and comfort of the children.
  • Ensuring the holistic development of children.
  • Behaviour and conflict management is positive, sympathetic, constructive, supportive, respectful and in line with current legislation.

Reflect on own facilitation.

  • Gathering feedback on facilitation.
  • Conducting strengths and weaknesses analyse on facilitation.
  • Complete a report and include any recommendations.

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the development of babies, toddlers and young children within each domain of development.

  • Understanding stages of development.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how gender, socio-economic background, age, environment and special needs impact on the development of children.
  • Describe how development is shaped by socio-cultural influences.

  3. The CAD Corporation retains the rights to change this calendar without any notification.
  4. Tea/coffee and a light lunch will be provided.
  5. All university students will receive a 10% discount for cash payments.
  6. The minimum notice of cancellation is 5 (five) working days prior to the course commencement date. If you fail to do so the full amount is payable.
  7. Students are to be at the training venue by 08h00 in preparation for a 08h30 start time.
