Overview

The Coaching & Mentoring Programme is a SAQA unit standard-based course that teaches learners to perform one-on-one training on the job. NQF aligned, credit-bearing course resulting in a Certificate of Competence after successful assessment.

This is a programme that teaches a Practitioner to answer these questions-

  • What learning will help my career?
  • How do I develop myself so that I can improve myself?
  • What learning can I participate in to improve my prospects?
  • What kinds of training opportunities are available in South Africa?

Outcomes & Objectives

Upon completion of this course and successful assessment Learners will have acquired these skills:

  • Prepare for one-to-one training on the job.

  • Course Prerequisites

    • The credit calculation is based on the assumption that learners are already competent in terms of the learning area in which they will provide training.
    • Evidence = Grade 11 report OR
    • In the absence of a Grade 11 report, the Learner must undergo an interview with the Internal Moderator to establish readiness.

Instructor-Led Classes

Reach your full potential through our “myWay Instructor-Led” classes combined with interactive lessons, supporting video content, practical assignments and in field experience, done during the traditional 08:00 – 16:00 working day.

Online Mentored Learning

Do a course at your pace via our “myWay Online Mentored Learning”, combining self-study with supported interactive online video lectures, an online course mentor, extra resources, questionnaires and more, all supported via out Online Student Portal.

Important Notes

  • Students are to be at the training venue by 08h00 in preparation for a 08h30 start time.
  • Learnfast retains the right to change this calendar without any notification.
  • Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of the proof of payment or an official company purchase order for the full amount of the training.
  • For full day courses Learnfast will supply you with the relevant training material. A desktop computer to use for the training (where applicable), tea/coffee and a full lunch for full day InClass training hosted at Learnfast only. Catering is not included for OnSite training and laptop is available for hire at an additional cost if required.
  • Cancellation or rescheduling requests must be in writing and reach us via fax or email at least 5 (five) working days prior to the course commencement date. Full course fees may be retained for no shows or requests within 5 working days prior to commencement.
  • Although we go to great lengths to ensure that all training proceeds as scheduled, Learnfast reserves the right to cancel or postpone dates if we require to do so and undertake to inform clients in writing and telephonically of these changes.
  • Learnfast suggests clients wait until a week prior to course commencement that a course has been confirmed to go ahead as scheduled before booking flight and accommodation. Learnfast is NOT responsible for cost associated with cancellation of classes such as flight and accommodation for clients.
 

DAY 1

* Registration and introduction to the National Qualifications Framework.

  • Review individual task performance in relation to performance requirements.
  • Identify individual learning needs in relation to task performance, intended learning outcomes and stakeholder objectives.
  • Understanding the value of preparation to cater to the needs and responsibilities of stakeholders.
  • Establish the structure of the training plan in co-operation with relevant stakeholders and experts.
  • Arrange resources, locations, and personnel to suit intended delivery.
  • Arrange the learning environment to meet organisational and legislative requirements for safety and accessibility.
  • Confirm review criteria with relevant personnel.

DAY 2

  • Understanding learning outcomes, sequence of activities, job applicability, and the assessment process.
  • The concept of outcomes-based education and training.
  • Using appropriate language mediums and levels.
  • Explore learner needs.
  • Understand the need for providing sufficient opportunity for practice.
  • Carry out training in accordance with specified requirements.
  • Monitoring learner's progress and make modifications where necessary.
  • Monitor performance in terms of agreed performance outcomes.
  • Performance compliance.
  • Provide constructive feedback to identify strengths and weaknesses.
  • Reporting on training in relation to organisational quality assurance requirements.
  • Determining learner's readiness for formal assessment.

DAY 3 

  • Principles of review.
  • Using stakeholder feedback to understand the impact of training.
  • Using review to make recommendations for improvement.

  3. The CAD Corporation retains the rights to change this calendar without any notification.
  4. Tea/coffee and a light lunch will be provided.
  5. All university students will receive a 10% discount for cash payments.
  6. The minimum notice of cancellation is 5 (five) working days prior to the course commencement date. If you fail to do so the full amount is payable.
