Welcome to the Provide Learner Support learning programme.
This is a SAQA unit standard-based course that teaches Learning & Development Practitioners how to guide and advise Learners on opportunities for learning, development and assessment. This is a programme that teaches a Practitioner to answer questions such as “What learning will help my career?”, “How do I develop myself so that I can improve myself?”, “What learning can I participate in to improve my prospects?” and “What kinds of training opportunities are available in South Africa?”.
This course can be attended by anyone who wish to design and develop learning material for use in credit-bearing courses as well as in non-credit bearing courses, for any learning approach or delivery method. This course can also be attended by Learning and Development Practitioners, HR Practitioners and Assessors & Moderators who must understand the construct and evaluation of assessment instruments.

In Class or Virtual Class Based Learning

A technology mediated, self paced online delivery method with personal mentorship.

Learners to arrive at the training venue from 08:00 in preparation for 08:30 starting time

Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of the proof of payment or an official company purchase order.

For full day, on campus courses, Learnfast will supply you with a computer to use for training (if applicable) & tea/coffee and a full lunch. Catering is not included for On-Site training and laptops are available for hire at an additional cost if required.

Cancellation or rescheduling requests must be in writing and reach us via email at least 5-10 working days prior to the course commencement date. Full course fees will be retained for no shows.

Virtual learners are required to have a stable internet connection & a working headset available for sound purposes.

Learners who use their own laptops are fully responsible to ensure that administration rights, software installations, etc. are working sufficiently prior to training.

Learnfast reserves the right to cancel or postpone dates if we require to do so and undertake to inform clients in writing and telephonically of these changes.

Module 1: Identify and Analyse Learner’s Needs
After completing this module, the learner will be able to identify and analyse learners needs

- Conduct the analysis in a sensitive, caring and professional manner
- Ensure that the analysis involves the learner as an active participant
- Maintain and update information and support resources
Module 2: Prepare and Review and Individual
Development Plan After completing this module, the learner will be able to prepare and review and Individual development plan
- Identify learner goals, objectives and aspirations
- Match opportunities for learning and assessment to identified goals, objectives and aspirations
- Individual development plan identifies learning outcomes and opportunities for learning and assessment
- Review and adjust goals to match the learner's requirements and opportunities
- Review the development plan and adjust it at agreed intervals
Module 3: Provide Guidance and Support to Learners
After completing this module, the learner will be able to provide guidance and support to learners
- Provide relevant guidance and workable solutions
- Provide guidance and support in a sensitive, caring and professional manner to promote learner participation
- Check the suitability of the guidance and support provided
- Refer learners to appropriate specialist guidance and counselling (support) services
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
Module 4: Maintain Records of Learner Needs and Guidance and Support Provided
After completing this module, the learner will be able to maintain records of learner needs and guidance and support provided.
- Capture learner’s needs and nature and content of the guidance and support provided
- Records need to be consistent with the assistance and support actually provided
- Records are sufficient to facilitate the need for future references
- Records meet organisational quality assurance requirements
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
Module 5: Evaluate Services Provided
After completing this module, the learner will be able to evaluate services provided.
- Seek learner and stakeholder feedback on guidance and advice
- Ensure that the evaluation reveals strengths and weaknesses of the support resources and guidance provided
- Recommendations and the evaluation contribute to ongoing improvement and quality of guidance and support services
