This learning programme is intended for all persons who need to apply the principles of ethics to improve organisational culture. This Unit Standard is intended for managers in all economic sectors. These managers would typically be second level managers such as heads of department, section heads or divisional heads, who may have more than one team reporting to them.
Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to: Demonstrate understanding of the relationship between values, ethics and organisational culture and its impact on achieving goals and objectives; Apply the concept of corporate ethics to a unit; Analyse a unit in relation to the principles of corporate ethics and formulate recommendations for strengthening shared organisational values, the code of conduct and ethical practices.

Students are to be at the training venue by 08h00 in preparation for a 08h30 start time.

Learnfast retains the right to change this calendar without any notification.

Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of the proof of payment or an official company purchase order for the full amount of the training.

For full day courses, Learnfast will supply you with the relevant training material. A desktop computer to use for the training (where applicable), tea/coffee and a full lunch for full day InClass training hosted at Learnfast only. Catering is not included for OnSite training and laptop is available for hire at an additional cost if required.

Cancellation or rescheduling requests must be in writing and reach us via fax or email at least 5 (five) working days prior to the course commencement date. Full course fees may be retained for no shows or requests within 5 working days prior to commencement.

Although we go to great lengths to ensure that all training proceeds as scheduled, Learnfast reserves the right to cancel or postpone dates if we require to do so and undertake to inform clients in writing and telephonically of these changes.

Module 1: Understand the Relationship between Values, Ethics and Organisational Culture
- Demonstrate the relationship between personal values, organisational ethics, and the entity's culture through examples from the South African workplace
- Illustrate the complexity of the conflicts between personal values and the entity's values and ethical codes with examples from the South African workplace
- Analyse and describe the potential impact of organisational values and culture on the entity's triple bottom line
Module 2: Apply the Concept of Corporate Ethics to a Unit
- Explain the imperatives for ethical conduct in South African organisations with reference to acts, regulations, codes and other documents relevant to the entity
- Analyse the role of corporate governance within an entity to determine the contribution of a unit in promoting internal organisational codes and ethical practices
- Analyse the specific ethical practices of a unit in different areas with examples
Module 3: Analyse a Unit in Relation to the Principles of Corporate Ethics
- Select an instrument for analysing individual and organisational conduct in respect of organisational values, codes of conduct and corporate ethics
- Apply the instrument to gather and record information within a unit in respect of organisational values, codes of conduct and corporate ethics
- Apply the instrument to evaluate the current state in a unit against the desired state in respect of organisational values, codes of conduct and corporate ethics
Module 4: Formulate Recommendations for Strengthening Shared Organisational Values and Ethical Practices
- Prepare an implementation plan that describes the strengthening of the entity's values, code of conduct and ethical practices in the unit
- Describe the role and responsibilities of the manager in terms of decision making to strengthen the values, code of conduct and ethical practices in a unit and the entity
- Outline the communication activities for promoting the entity's values, code of conduct and ethical practices in the plan, with role allocation and time frames
- Describe the process for monitoring and evaluating improvements in relation to the entity's organisational values, code of conduct and ethical practices in a unit with role allocation and time frames
