Welcome to this learning programme that will lead you to a greater understanding of applying a range of project management tools and techniques. Microsoft Projects is one of the most popular scheduling and project management programs on the market.
Learners accessing this standard will be involved in project management teams or involved in building small project management teams.
We will cover the basics of project management and how to set up a simple project, including how to configure the project calendar, tasks, resources, as we as Microsoft Project’s more advanced features, including task management, timelines, earned value calculation, custom reports, and custom views. By the end of this course, users should be comfortable with creating a basic project with tasks, resources, a customized calendar, and customized views as well as managing the Project environment, working within task structures, generating views, and creating reports.

PART 1:
Module 1: Starting a Project
You need to walk before you can run, and that’s why this lesson starts with the basics such as Project Management 101, how to navigate and customize the Project 2016 Interface, add tasks to a project, add resources to a project, and save a project.
Module 2: Working with Project Calendars
Once your students are familiar with the basics, it’s time to move onward. The second lesson takes a look at how to manage project time frames and how to change working time.
Module 3: Working with Project Tasks
Tasks get a full consideration here as students are shown how to manage project tasks and add summary tasks and milestones.
Module 4: Working with Project Resources
This is where students will learn more about project resources as the topics here include: manage project resources, and allocate and level work resources.
Module 5: Delivering a Project Plan
This lesson covers project plans and looks at how to print project views, share projects, and export projects.
PART 2:
Module 1: Managing the Project Environment
This lesson looks at advanced skills and builds upon skills your students developed in part one. At the end of this course, your students are going to be comfortable managing the Project environment, working within task structures, generating views, and creating reports.
Module 2: Managing Task Structures
This lesson covers several topics. Here, your students will learn how to: change a task list, create a network diagram, manage the critical path, use lag and lead, update project work, and analyze earned value.
Module 3: Generating Project Views
The four topics in this lesson are: Use View Commands, Use Existing Views, Create Custom Views, and Format and Share the Timeline View.
Module 4: Producing Project Reports
Topics in this final lesson show students ways to use existing reports and create custom ones, and export visual reports.
