Overview This course is aimed for the individual who is managing and evaluating an ECD (Early Childhood Development) Center, nursery school, or Crèche (home-based, community, family outreach services, center-based, prisons, play-groups). This course focuses on the care, facilitation, observation, reporting and working with families and others in a variety of settings for the development of babies, toddlers and young children.

Admission Requirements <ul> <li> <div>It is assumed that learners are competent in Mathematical Literacy and Communication at NQF Level 4 or equivalent.</div> </li> <li> <div>Learners should have a basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.</div> </li> <li> <div>Learners should have an understanding of the development of babies, toddlers and young children.</div> </li> </ul>

Important Notes <ul> <li> <div>Students are to be at the training venue by 08h00 in preparation for a 08h30 start time.</div> </li> <li> <div>Learnfast retains the right to change this calendar without any notification.</div> </li> <li> <div>Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of the proof of payment or an official company purchase order for the full amount of the training.</div> </li> <li> <div>For full day courses Learnfast will supply you with the relevant training material. A desktop computer to use for the training (where applicable), tea/coffee and a full lunch for full day InClass training hosted at Learnfast only. Catering is not included for OnSite training and laptop is available for hire at an additional cost if required.</div> </li> <li> <div>Cancellation or rescheduling requests must be in writing and reach us via fax or email at least 5 (five) working days prior to the course commencement date. CourseOutline Manage the Early Childhood Development (ECD) service. <ul> <li>Understanding the planning and management of the Early Childhood Development (ECD) service.</li> <li>Review ECD services and impact on the community.</li> <li>Understanding government policies and legislation.</li> </ul> <hr /> Manage the organisational systems and structures. <ul> <li>Identifying organization systems and structures.</li> <li>Identifying each person’s responsibilities and line of authority.</li> <li>Formulating and reviewing of organisational policy.</li> </ul> <hr /> Supervise staff and support their development. <ul> <li>Recruitment, selection, induction and appraisal of staff are carried out as per the organisation's employment policy and in line with Labour Law.</li> <li>Professional development of staff.</li> <li>Maintaining effective working relationships among staff.</li> </ul> <hr /> Manage material and financial resources. <ul> <li>Understanding Income and Expenses.</li> <li>Creating a Budget.</li> <li>Facilities, equipment and materials are monitored to ensure that they are used effectively, maintained in good working order, and replaced when necessary.</li> </ul> <hr /> Maintain administrative systems. <ul> <li>Implementing organizational control systems.</li> <li>Understanding and keeping financial records accessible, accurate and up to date.</li> <li>Maintaning admission procedures and record-keeping systems relating to children, families, staff and the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Programme.</li> </ul> <hr /> Prepare for an evaluation <ul> <li>Selecting appropriate evaluation method and criteria.</li> <li>Confirmation with stakeholders.</li> <li>Stakeholders involved in the evaluation are informed.</li> <li>Access is obtained to sources of information for the evaluation.</li> </ul> <hr /> Carry out an evaluation. <ul> <li>Information gathered and used is relevant, up to date and covers all the required elements.</li> <li>Ensuring Information is checked to be reliable, verifiable and sufficient for evaluation purposes.</li> <li>Conducting an evaluation</li> <li>Analyse and interpret information.</li> <li>Identifying strengths and weaknesses.</li> <li>Evaluating findings.</li> </ul> <hr /> Compile an evaluation report. <ul> <li>Compiling an evaluation report with detail and structure including any recommendations.</li> </ul>
