Writing Excel Macros with Visual Basic for Applications

Welcome to our Microsoft Excel 2016 Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) courseware. VBA is Microsoft’s powerful development tool for creating macros in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

By the end of this course, users should be comfortable with creating, recording, editing, and debugging a macro; formatting worksheets using macros; creating an interactive worksheet; and performing custom calculations using VBA.

This course is intended to help all intermediate to advanced users get up to speed quickly with Visual Basic for Applications. We will cover different features of the Visual Basic Editor interface; show users how to record, edit, debug, and manage macros; and learn about the syntax that VBA uses to create macros.

This course assumes that the user understands the basics of using a Windows-based computer. Students should also be comfortable using the Microsoft Excel 2016 interface, and have a firm understanding of how Excel works and what it is used for. Understanding and experience with formulas, functions, and PivotTables within Excel 2016 is strongly recommended. No previous experience with Visual Basic for Applications is required.
