Overview

Time Management course is intended for anyone who desires to manage their time effectively by using ,a  variety of practical techniques taught in the course as well as the basic understanding of time management.

 This course is aligned to Unit Standard 15234 - Apply efficient time management to the work of a department/division/section NQF Level 5, Credits :4

Course Outcomes

Learners will be able to :

  • Identify time management profiles
  • Understand the principles of time management
  • Draw up time efficient work plans to carry out department/division/ section work functions
  • Implement time efficient work plans

Who Should Attend

This learning programme is intended for all persons who need to apply efficient time management to their personal life, work life, work of a department / division / section.  This course is designed for employees and executives involved in performing daily tasks, Leadership and the management of teams, and focuses on translating strategic intent into effective daily action. Competence against this standard will ensure that teams are effectively managed and that managers can translate strategy into action.

Distance Learning

Do a course at your own pace via our “myWay Distance Learning”. We have re-defined studying via online by combining self-study with supported interactive online video lectures, extra resources, questionnaires and much more, all supported via out Online Student Portal. You will get a course coach and lecturer assigned to you so that you never feel alone and have support whenever you need. Your coach will look after you and your study health, encouraging you to progress constantly.

Important Notes

  • Students are to be at the training venue by 08h00 in preparation for a 08h30 start time.
  • Learnfast retains the right to change this calendar without any notification.
  • Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of the proof of payment or an official company purchase order for the full amount of the training.
  • For full day courses Learnfast will supply you with the relevant training material. A desktop computer to use for the training (where applicable), tea/coffee and a full lunch for full day InClass training hosted at Learnfast only. Catering is not included for OnSite training and laptop is available for hire at an additional cost if required.
  • Cancellation or rescheduling requests must be in writing and reach us via fax or email at least 5 (five) working days prior to the course commencement date. Full course fees may be retained for no shows or requests within 5 working days prior to commencement.
  • Although we go to great lengths to ensure that all training proceeds as scheduled, Learnfast reserves the right to cancel or postpone dates if we require to do so and undertake to inform clients in writing and telephonically of these changes.
  • Learnfast suggests clients wait until a week prior to course commencement that a course has been confirmed to go ahead as scheduled before booking flight and accommodation. Learnfast is NOT responsible for cost associated with cancellation of classes such as flight and accommodation for clients.

Chapter 1 : Identify time management profiles

  • Analyse current time management techniques and identify any weaknesses.
  • Identify the top time wasters that impact on the organisation's productivity.
  • Identify the external forces that affect time management.

Chapter 2 : Understand the principles of time management

  • Understanding the 80/20 rule and how it affects Time Mangement.
  • Understanding how to use delegation effectively.
  • Understanding and applying Prioritising.
  • Understand the principle of balance between the various aspects of one's life.

Chapter 3: Draw up time efficient work plans to carry out department / division / section work functions

  • Understand the organisation's objectives and goals.
  • Translate organisation's objectives into work plans.
  • Identify the key activities required to complete a specific project and analyse all tasks and work procedures and assign it to a specific time frame.
  • Delegate some responsibilities where applicable.
  • Ensure that plans eliminate and/or manage time wasters in the organisation.
  • Prioritise tasks in terms of urgency and importance for the organisation.

Chapter 4 : Implement time efficient work plans

  • Use delegation correctly as a tool when applicable to get the work done.
  • Learn how to be proactive.
  • Implement plans once all involved are informed of their roles, duties and functions.
  • Monitor progress with work plans on an on-going basis and make amendments where necessary.
